Split a PDF without changing page quality
Extract selected pages, divide a PDF by custom ranges or create a separate PDF for every page. The splitter copies original page content with pdf-lib rather than turning pages into pictures. Text, vector graphics, images, page dimensions and rotation remain intact.
Choose selected pages or custom ranges
Use numbered previews to select pages with a mouse, touch or keyboard. Selected pages stay in source order. Enter ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-10 to create three PDFs in the order entered. Whitespace is normalized; empty, malformed, reversed, duplicate and out-of-range entries are rejected. Different ranges may overlap intentionally.
Individual PDFs and one ZIP
Download any result individually. Multiple PDFs are also packaged automatically into a ZIP, in range or page order. Output names use a sanitized version of the source filename. Creating more than 50 files requires confirmation, and processing runs sequentially.
Local processing and sensible limits
Your PDF is processed locally and never uploaded. Choose one PDF up to 100 MB and 200 pages. Only small previews are rendered. Generated PDFs are limited to 75 MB in total, and overlapping ranges can copy up to 1,000 pages per operation. Cancel or reset to release resources.
What page copying preserves
Scanned pages stay scanned and text pages retain their text. Page-level resources and supported annotations are copied. Document-level bookmarks, attachments, interactive forms and digital signatures are not guaranteed to survive splitting. Check documents that rely on these features. Password-protected PDFs need an unlocked copy.
How to use
- Choose one PDF and review its numbered page previews.
- Select pages, enter custom ranges or choose Split every page. Confirm large output batches when prompted.
- Split locally, then download individual PDFs or all outputs as ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
How do I split a PDF?
Choose your PDF, pick a split mode and click Split PDF. Download each output or the ZIP containing multiple outputs.
Can I extract selected pages?
Yes. Choose Extract selected pages, mark the pages you need and create one PDF in original source order.
Can I split every page into a separate PDF?
Yes. Split every page creates one file per source page and packages multiple results as a ZIP. More than 50 files requires confirmation.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Previewing, page copying and ZIP generation happen in your browser. Filenames, page-range contents and document metadata are excluded from analytics.
Can I split a PDF by page ranges?
Yes. Each comma-separated item is one output: 1-3, 5, 8-10 creates three PDFs. Invalid or identical ranges must be corrected before splitting.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No rasterization or image recompression is applied to outputs. Original page content is copied; document-level forms, bookmarks and signatures may not carry across.
