QR Code Generator
Create a private static QR code for a URL, text, Wi-Fi, messages or contact details.
QR codes can hide destination URLs. Verify links before sharing.
What is a QR code?
A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that stores text in a pattern a phone camera or scanner can read. It can contain a website address, Wi-Fi settings, contact details, a message or other text without requiring a separate account.
How to create a QR code
Choose the content type, complete the required fields and review the live preview. Keep dark and light colors strongly contrasted, then download a PNG for common use or an SVG when you need a scalable file.
Worked example: a static URL QR
Choose URL and enter https://ismust.com/tools, then download a PNG for a flyer or an SVG for scalable artwork. The URL is embedded directly in the static QR code; changing that encoded destination requires generating a new QR and replacing the distributed code. The page at the same URL can still be updated. Keep the quiet zone and strong contrast, and scan-test a print at its intended size before distributing it. No managed redirect or scan tracking is added.
Static vs dynamic QR codes
A static QR code stores its final content directly and cannot be edited after download. A dynamic QR code usually points through a managed redirect that can be changed and tracked. This tool creates static codes only, with no redirect dependency or built-in scan analytics.
Do QR codes expire?
The static QR pattern generated here does not expire and does not require ismust to remain online. Content outside the code can still change: a destination website may move, close or become unsafe, and saved contact or Wi-Fi details can become outdated.
QR code error correction
Error correction helps a scanner recover the code when part of it is damaged or obscured. M is a useful default. Higher Q or H correction improves resilience but makes the pattern denser, so H is selected when a center logo is added.
How logo and colors affect scannability
A QR code needs a clear quiet zone and strong contrast. The tool blocks very low-contrast combinations, keeps the required margin, and limits a logo to a small centered area. Test important codes on the devices and printed sizes where they will be used.
QR codes for Wi-Fi
A Wi-Fi QR code stores the network name, security type, password and hidden-network setting in a standard payload. A compatible device can use those details to offer a connection without the person typing the password.
QR codes for contact information
The contact option creates a vCard containing the fields you enter, such as name, company, phone, email and address. Scanning apps can use it to prepare a new contact, though the person scanning should still review details before saving.
Privacy of browser-generated QR codes
Payload creation, QR rendering, logo composition and downloads happen in your browser. The entered URL, text, password, phone number, message, contact details and logo are not uploaded or included in analytics.
How to use
- Choose URL, text, Wi-Fi, email, phone, SMS, WhatsApp or contact.
- Enter the required content, then optionally choose colors, size, correction level or a small center logo.
- Check the preview and download the QR code as PNG or SVG.
Frequently asked questions
How do I create a QR code?
Choose a QR type, enter the required content and review the live preview. Download the finished code as PNG or SVG and test it before publishing or printing it.
Is this QR code generator free?
Yes. It creates and downloads static QR codes for free without an account or paid redirect service.
Do static QR codes expire?
The QR pattern itself does not expire. A website or other destination referenced by the code can still change, disappear or become unsafe.
Can I create a QR code without signing up?
Yes. No signup is required, and the tool does not store a project or create a server-side redirect.
Can I make a Wi-Fi QR code?
Yes. Enter the network name, password, security type and hidden-network setting. Those values remain in your browser and are encoded directly into the QR code.
Can I add a logo?
Yes. Add a local PNG, JPEG or WebP logo up to 2 MB. The tool limits its coverage and selects high error correction, but you should still scan-test the result.
Can I download QR codes as SVG?
Yes. SVG remains sharp when scaled for print or design work. PNG is also available for applications that expect a raster image.
Are my QR contents uploaded?
No. QR contents and optional logos are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to our servers or analytics.
What is the best error correction level?
M is a practical default for an unobstructed code. Q or H can add resilience when damage is likely, and H is recommended when a logo covers the center.
Can QR codes stop working?
A damaged, low-contrast or very small code may stop scanning. A linked site can also move or disappear even though the static QR pattern remains unchanged.
What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?
Static codes contain their final data and cannot be edited. Dynamic services place a managed redirect between the code and its destination, which can enable later edits or scan analytics. This tool creates static codes only.
